At 19:17 on March 6th, 2022 West Metro Fire Rescue with auto-aid from Arvada Fire Protection District responded to the 10000 block of W. 35th Ave. in Wheat Ridge on a reported structure fire. JeffCom advised units enroute that 911 caller reporting fire in the garage and spreading. Engine 17 arrived to a working fire in a fourplex with smoke showing, stretched an 1 3/4 line for fire attack and Engine 16 secured the water supply to Engine 17. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side in the offensive strategy, and assigned Engine 2 to assist with fire attack, and Tower 2 with the primary search. Engine 1 arrived and pulled a 2nd line in and Medic 52 assigned as medical. Crews contained the fire in the garage and the fire was put under control at 19:39 with an extended overhaul. All occupants and pets were able to get out of the residents before firefighters arrived on scene. 7 people were displaced and the fire is under investigation.
