
Arapahoe County West Ponds Circle Attic Fire
South Metro Attic Fire
At 12:51 on March 28th, 2023 South Metro Fire Rescue Engine 19 was dispatched to an electrical problem at 4669 W. Ponds Circle in Arapahoe County. A resident there reported a crackling sound from a bathroom ceiling fan but no smoke or flames. Upon arrival, Engine 19 observed smoke showing from the eaves of the two-story, 4-unit building, and additional resources were requested. Firefighters advanced a hose line to the second floor and used hooks to open the ceiling while firefighters on the roof cut a hole for vertical ventilation. The gable end of the building was also opened for ventilation and to check for fire extension. The fire was quickly controlled, all searches of the occupancies were clear and no injuries occurred. The SMFR Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what caused the fire.
