Meet & Greet Finalists

On January 5th, 2023 Aurora Fire Rescue committee members hosted a meet and greet at the Aurora Municipal Center Lobby for community members to interact with the finalists of the AFR Fire Chief panel. The selection process includes a 2 day in person review with council members, the mayor, community panel members, city executive team and city department directors. The final decision is expected to be concluded by the end of January or early February after extensive review. Former Fire Chief Fernando Gray, left in July of 2022 as the new Fire Chief for the Las Vegas Fire & Rescue. Gray served with Aurora for five years.

The finalists are:

Richard Davis, assistance chief of the Austin Fire Department, Texas

Alec Oughton, Fire Chief of the Herico Country, Virginia Division of Fire

Allen Robnett, Interim Fire Chief Of Aurora Fire Rescue

Froilan “Pepper” Valdez, Fire Chief of the Billings Fire Department, Montana
