Boulder County Cow Rescue
On January 31st, 2023 at 10:45 Boulder County Communications (1800) dispatched Mountain View Fire Rescue, Lafayette Fire Department and Boulder Emergency Squad to a cow that fell through the ice at the Prince Reservoir # 2 on N. 111th St. and Flatiron Meadows Blvd. in Erie. Crews arrived and started the rescue using chainsaws, mallets, pike poles, and other tools to get the very cold cow back to shore. Crews cut a channel in the ice to walk the cow out.
