North Metro Garage Fire

At 16:58 on December 27th, 2023 North Metro Fire Rescue District and Westminster Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 1000 block of Ash St. in Broomfield. Broomfield Public Safety Communications Center advised fire in the garage area and that a possible party was trapped inside. Engine 61 arrived to a small two-story house with a working fire from the garage and pulled a attack line to the Alpha side with Medic 61. Battalion 61 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy with a major incident tone. Engine 65 arrived and assisted with the water supply and Medic 66 as rehab. The fire was put under control at 17:13 and contain it to the garage, with moderate smoke damage occurring inside the home. The residents were able to get out of the house safety, but one individual was transported by Medic 4 to a local hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
