South Metro Hazmat Response

On February 28, 2023 at approximately 11:30 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported hazardous materials incident in a cul-de-sac on South Eagle Street near East Hinsdale Avenue. Dispatch advised responding units that there were two barrels in the road and that they were leaking a colored liquid. Crews and hazardous material technicians spent about an hours on scene gather information and analyzing the liquid. SMFR determined that both barrels contained water. No injuries were reported and no information has come to light as to how the barrels got in the middle of the road.
