On February 26th, 2023 at 11:33 Castle Rock Fire & Rescue Department was dispatched by Douglas Regional 911 Communications Center with automatic aid from South Metro Fire Rescue to a residential structure fire in the 3600 block of Betty St. in Douglas County. The initial report was of a shed on fire in the backyard with several 200-gallon propane tanks nearby. Engine 154 arrived on scene of a detached garage with exterior fire extending into the garage, stretched a 1¾” line to the backyard for fast attack, and tasked Medic 154 with handjacking a line to the hydrant. Engine 154 encountered water pressure issues on their attack line from their engine and pulled lines from Quint 151 to continue fire attack as Quint 155 made entry to search the structure. Engine 39 to laid into the scene due to difficulties with the water supply and pumped into Quint 151. The fire was quickly knocked down, the hazard to the propane tanks was mitigated, and the incident was brought under control with only some charring to the main residence.
