Denver Large Trash Fire

On July 15th, 2023 at 15:57 Denver Fire Department was dispatched to a reported large rubbish fire at the Waste Management South Metro Transfer Facility, 2400 W. Union Ave. in Englewood. Engine 36 arrived on scene, found a large rubbish fire on the north side of the property and summoned additional assistance and pulled a line in for fire attack. Engine 36 secured their own water supply on the westside of the pile and Engine 37 established the water supply of the east of the fire pile and . Chief 7 arrived and assumed command and assigned Truck 28 and Truck 38 with aerial master stream operations on the fire. Tower 23 arrived and also assigned with master stream fire attack from the aerial. Firefighters were on scene about two hours extinguishing the fire and mopping up hot spots.
