Rescue 50 Commissioning Ceremony

On March 4th, 2023 at approximately 11:00 the Florissant Fire Protection District held a commissioning ceremony for their new to them Rescue 50. The Department invited the public to help wet down and push in their new light rescue unit. The ritual dates back to the late 1800s when horse drawn wagons were used throughout the nation. After every run, crews had to push the wagons back into the bay. Rescue 50 is a 2008 Ford F-550 and will eventually have the new Florissant fire logo added to both sides of the rescue box. A jaws of life and rope rescue equipment will be stowed on the rig making it easier to respond to emergencies in the district’s rugged terrain.
