West Metro Apartment Fire
On April 21st, 2023 at 17:23 Jeffcom dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue to a possible structure fire 7875 W. Mansfield Parkway at the Marston Pointe Apartments in Lakewood. Rescue 10 arrived to a medium three-story apartment building with nothing showing and started the investigation. Crews found the problem first appeared to be an overheated and burned out dryer motor, but firefighters discovered that the fire was in the dryer vent between the first and second floor with a possible fire in the wall. Rescue 10 pulled 1 3/4 pre-connect with Medic 10 with active fire between floor 1 and 2. District 2 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side. Engine 12 setup the water supply, Tower 8 went to the roof and Medic 8 as medical group. The fire was put under control at 18:19. The fuel for the fire was dryer lint that ignited.
