Wildfire Awareness Open Houses

The West Metro Fire Rescue hosted several open houses on May 7th, 2023 as May is “Wildfire Awareness Month”. The open houses were held at Station 6, 9, 13 and 17 with each station providing simple tips and tricks and quick weekend projects that make homes wildfire ready. WMFR covers over 100 square miles with 17 stations staffed 24/7 in both Jefferson and Douglas Counties with an ISO Class 1 rating. 5280Fire covered the open houses at Station 6: 15100 W. 6th Ave. in Golden, Station 13: 12613 W. Indore Place in Ken Caryl, Station 17: 10901 W. 38th Ave. in Wheat Ridge and Station 9 which was held in downtown Morrison. Fire Station 4, 5 , 11 and 15 held open houses on May 13th, 2023.
