Station 6 – Golden

Fire Station 6 is located at 15100 W. 6th Ave. Service Rd, across the street from the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, built in 1985 and is the former Lakewood Fire Department (Colorado) Station 6. Station 6’s response area includes the Colorado Mills Mall, Red Rocks Community College & three major highways: I-70, C-470 & 6th Ave. This station response area borders the City of Golden and includes a dual-response with the Pleasant View Fire District (Colorado) also with Station 5 and a mutual-aid agreement with the Golden Fire Department (Colorado).

ENGINE 6

(P62) 2010 Pierce Quantum (22689-01) 1250 GPM pump, 500 gallon water tank and 20 gallons of foam. Former Engine 3, Engine 2 and is the twin to Engine 4.

TENDER 6

(P80) 2022 Freightliner 108SD 4×4 (5238) 4-Door / 2023 SVI (1194 / 74892244) (Type 1 Tactical Tender) 750 GPM (Waterous CGVK) single-stage pump, 2000 gallon water tank with foam and two 2100 gallon port-a-tanks. Nicknamed “Sasquatch 6”.

(P-22) 1991 KME Renegade 1250 GPM pump and 500 gallon tank, also ran as Engine 1 and Engine 2, twin to P-21 & P-23 and this has been sold.

DIVE 4

1981 Chevy Hi-Cube Van, support for Dive ops, also ran out Station 10 and as Hazmat support from Station 5. Responded as part of the Metro Dive Rescue.

(P44) 1999 Pierce Quantum (ED469) 1250 GPM pump and 500 gallon water tank. Former Engine 4 and Engine 5.

BRUSH 6

(P69) 1999 Ford F-550 4×4 XLT Super Duty / Central States, ran as Brush 6 for a short time before going out of service as a brush unit. Former Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District (Colorado). Became Rescue 14.

(P68) 1999 Ford F-550 4×4 XLT Super Duty / Central States 125 GPM pump and 300 gallon water tank. Former Brush 17. Former Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District (Colorado). Became REMS 2 at Station 9.

(P53) 2004 Piece Quantum (15442) 1250 GPM pump, 500 gallon water tank and 20 gallons of foam, also ran as Engine 3 and became a reserve.

(P48) 2000 Ford F-550 4×4 XL Super Duty (30716) / AlumLine with a skid-unit Type 6 125 GPM pump, 300 gallon water tank and 18 gallons of foam. Former Brush 9 and also ran as Brush 13 and Brush 5.
