West Metro Structure Fire

On August 21st, 2023 at 01:11 West Metro Fire Rescue and Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a reported structure fire in the 3200 block of Benton St. in Wheat Ridge. Jeffcom 911 advised that 911 caller reporting flames from the 2nd floor balcony. Engine 16 arrived on scene to a two-story structure with evacuations and a fully involved balcony on the 2nd floor, pulled a 1 3/4 for primary search and offensive exterior attack with Medic 16. Engine 1 established the water supply to Engine 16 and District 1 assumed command. Engine 17 pulled a 2nd line to the 2nd floor and assist with fire attack, Medic 11 assigned with medical and Tower 2 went to the roof to check for hot spots and the attic space. The fire was contained to the main fire unit. The cause is under investigation and no injuries were reported. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
