South Metro Vegetation Fire

On August 27th, 2024 at 13:28 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a vegetation fire at 8250 E. Harvard Ave. in Arapahoe County. South Metro Fire Emergency Communications advised Battalion Chief 3 that several callers reporting that fire in the brush with trees and weeds spreading and command requested additional engine and medic unit. Arapahoe County Sheriff deputies on scene reported 6 foot flames close to power lines. Brush 21 arrived to a small brush fire moving slowing in tall brush and pulled a line for fire attack with Engine 11. Battalion Chief 3 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Crews got the fire under control quickly. The fire burned approximately a 50′ x 75″ and the cause is unknown. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.
