South Metro Vegetation Fire

On August 27th, 2024 at 13:28 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a vegetation fire at 8250 E. Harvard Ave. in Arapahoe County. South Metro Fire Emergency Communications advised Battalion Chief 3 that several callers reporting that fire in the brush with trees and weeds spreading and command requested additional engine and medic unit. Arapahoe County Sheriff deputies on scene reported 6 foot flames close to power lines. Brush 21 arrived to a small brush fire moving slowing in tall brush and pulled a line for fire attack with Engine 11. Battalion Chief 3 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Crews got the fire under control quickly. The fire burned approximately a 50′ x 75″ and the cause is unknown. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened. SMFR Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
