Arapahoe County Vegetation Fire

On June 12th, 2024 at approximately 16:40 Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported vegetation fire at 2690 S. County Rd. 137 in Arapahoe County. Crews arrived on scene and found a slow moving grass fire about ten to fifteen acres in size. Crews were on scene about two hours extinguishing the fire and mopping up hot spots. No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged. Firefighters believe that lighting from a passing storm started the fire.
