Wildland Fire Team Training

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Wildland Fire Team conducted training exercises at Richmil Ranch Open Space Park near Deer Trail on March 21st, 2024. The crew took advantage of the nice weather to conduct annual safety refresher training and a basic firefighting skills field day for new members. The team consists of full time Sheriff’s Office employees and two staff members from Arapahoe County Open Spaces all of whom serve on the wildland team as a secondary duty. ACSO operates three Type 6 engines, a tactical tender and two ATVs. Firefighters from Byers Fire Protection District and Strasburg Fire Protection District also participated in the training.
