Bennett Ash Street Residential Structure Fire

On September 15th, 2024 at approximately 11:20 Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire at 228 Ash St. in Bennett. A heavy black plume could be seen for miles. Crews arrived on scene and found heavy fire in a multi-family residential structure. Additional assistance was summoned from the I-70 East corridor agencies and Aurora Fire Rescue. Crews were on scene about seven hours extinguishing the fire, mopping up and investigating the cause. No injuries were reported.
