Boulder County Highway 287 Aircraft Down Incident

Aircraft Emergency Landing

At 15:08 on April 14th, 2024 Boulder County Communications (1800) dispatched Mountain View Fire RescueLafayette Fire Department, Boulder Emergency Squad (BES) and Boulder County Emergency Services responded to the intersection of Hwy. 287 and Niwot Rd. for a report of an airplane down. Battalion 2260 arrived to a aircraft that landed safety on the highway. The aircraft was a 1963 Mooney M20C. There was one person on board but they suffered no injuries. No one was hurt on the ground either. Battalion Chief Flagg towed the plane to a pull off area so traffic could resume and then all of the fire units returned to service or was canceled before arriving on scene.
