At 06:08 on March 30th,2024 Boulder Fire-Rescue Department Engine 2505 was called out to a fire alarm in the 2200 block of Emerald Rd. which was called in by an alarm company. Boulder Police & Fire Communications (9100) advised that fire alarm company reported home owner has fire in the garage with flames showing and the call was upgraded. Engine 2505 arrived to a two-story single-family with smoke from the garage and pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack in the offensive strategy and to fill-the-box. Battalion 2570 arrived and assumed command and crews found a electric vehicle inside that was smoking only with no fire, and Command requested that all responding unit to cancel and Engine 2505 can handle the call. Battalion 2570 reported the vehicle exploded with a working structure fire and to continue the fill-the-box and two additional ambulances to the scene. Crews worked on a extended time getting the fire under control and overhaul. All residents of the home were safely evacuated and there are no injuries. Firefighters remain on scene ventilating the home that filled with smoke during the incident and worked to remove the vehicles safely from the garage. Louisville Fire Protection District was requested for mutual aid and Lafayette Fire Department was requested for their electric vehicle blanket. During this event, firefighters had to link around 1100 feet of hose from the fire hydrant to feed Engine 2503. Additional information provided by Boulder Fire-Rescue Department
