2nd Alarm Structure Fire

At 11:47 on April 13th, 2024 Denver 911 Communications Center dispatched Denver Fire Department to a possible single-family structure fire in the 2600 block of W. 39th Ave. in Sunnyside. Engine 7 arrived to a working structure fire with heavy fire spreading to other structures and pulled a line in for fire attack. Engine 12 secured the water supply, Truck 12 and Truck 4 started the primary searches. Chief 2 arrived and assumed command and requested a 2nd alarm. The fire was put under control within an hour and crews started an extended overhaul. The fire started by a propane tank that exploded in the alley and spread to nine structures including a house and six outbuildings which where sheds or garages. One firefighter was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. One family was displaced by the fire. The cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by Denver Fire Department
