On April 11th, 2024 around 02:45 Boulder County Communications (1800) dispatched Mountain View Fire Rescue and Lafayette Fire Department on Holbrook St. in Erie for a possible garage fire. Erie Officers arrived on scene to a two-garage fully involved with a vehicle inside. The call was upgraded to a “fill the box”. Ladder 2216 arrived to a fully involved garage and started fire attack and started the primary search. Battalion 2260 arrived and assumed command. Crews worked the fire which spread through the backyard and into the porch of the home. A downed powerline blocked part of the garage which meant they could not put water on the flames in that section without the stream passing dangerously close to the live powerline. Xcel Energy responded to the scene and disconnected the power and crews immediately resumed putting water on that section of the fire and got the flames out. The garage was a total loss as well as a vehicle inside. No injures were reported and the fire is under investigation in this incident. Additional information provided by Mountain View Fire Rescue
