Fire Station 2 Structure Fire

At 17:29 on June 2nd, 2024 El Paso County 911 Communications dispatched the Hanover Fire Department, Fountain Fire Department, Security Fire Department, Stratmoor Hills Fire Protection District, and Fort Carson Fire & Emergency Services to 13325 Old Pueblo Rd. at Hanover Fire Station 2 for a possible structure fire. Once units started responding, fire dispatch advised callers were reporting heavy white and black smoke coming from the fire apparatus bay of the fire station, but there were no flames showing. Hearing this units on another structure fire in nearby Fountain cleared and began responding to this incident. Upon arrival Fountain EMS Chief 204 arrived and confirmed the working fire; Fountain Engine 213 was one of the first suppression apparatus to arrive on the scene and began fire attack. Crews were able to contain the fire to the apparatus bay, however the 2 trucks parked inside (Engine 3512 and Tender 3522) were a total loss. No injuries were reported, and the fire is actively under investigation by the Pikes Peak Region Fire Investigation Unit.
