The Interlaken Fire is burning near Twin Lakes in Lake County which was reported in the afternoon of June 11th, 2024. The fire has burned 698 acres with 95% containment as of June 23rd, 2024. Multiple drops of both water and retardant from aircraft was made on the fire. The fire is being managed by a Type 3 Incident Management Team (IMT). U.S. Forest Service Fire investigator has determined that abandoned campfire is to blame which was discovered close to the Interlaken Trail.
