West Metro Garage Fire

At 09:17 on March 4th, 2024 West Metro Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a possible structure fire at 9 Shining Oak Court in Ken Caryl Valley. Jeffcom received a single caller reporting fire in the garage and all residents and pets were out of the structure. Engine 13 arrived to a two-story single-family with a working fire from the garage and pulled 1 3/4 line for fire attack and secured their own water supply with Medic 13. Truck 14 arrived and assigned with search and roof ops and Engine 8 secured a 2nd water supply. District 3 assumed command in the offensive strategy and requested additional medic to the scene. Crews found fire that extended into the home and the fire was put under control at 09:49. One resident was transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation. The cause of fire under investigation.
