West Metro Structure Fire

At 14:48 on November 17th, 2024 West Metro Fire Rescue and Arvada Fire Protection District was dispatched to a possible residential structure fire the 1000 block of Youngfield St. in in Jefferson County. Jeffcom advised that caller reporting the house is on fire with smoke and flames showing. Tower 2 arrived to a small one-story residential structure with smoke showing and pulled 1 3/4 to the Alpha side front door for fire attack and secured their own water supply. Engine 6 arrived and pulled a 2nd line and Engine 5 started the primary search with Medic 3. Medic 8 assigned with medical and District 2 arrived in command in the offensive strategy. Crews found fire in the bedroom which was quickly put under control. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was determined to be a space heater.
