South Metro Vehicle Fire

At 09:28 on April 22nd, 2024 South Metro Fire Emergency Communications Center dispatched South Metro Fire Rescue to a reported vehicle fire in the driveway of home on Eagle Run Lane. Upon arrival, Engine 47 found a fully engulfed van with flames extending to the exterior of the house. The incident was reclassified as a working residential structure fire and additional resources were dispatched. Firefighters quickly controlled the fire and confirmed everyone was safe and out of danger. Crews checked for fire extension inside the home and verified flames did not spread inside. One person was evaluated by fire medics for smoke inhalation and was not transported to the hospital, thankfully no other injuries occurred. The fire started in the engine compartment of the van and the exact cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
