Steamboat Springs Structure Fire

Shortly after 09:00 on March 21st, 2024  Routt County Communications dispatcher Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue, West Routt Fire Protection District and Steamboat Springs Police Department to the 3700 block of Lincoln Ave. to the Sleepy Bear Mobile Home Park for a possible structure fire. On scene, units reported smoke showing from the mobile home and declared the incident a working fire. Tender 6-1 and Tender 6-4 established a water shuttle system, while crews from Engine 6-2 and Tower 6-1 began fire attack. Firefighters established a perimeter to protect adjacent structure sand attacked the structure fire. The fire was knocked down fairly quickly and crews worked on any remaining hot spots inside the structure. The fire and damage were mostly contained to the single structure with light damage to the exterior of an adjacent structure. One patient was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The fire is actively being investigated by the Steamboat Springs Police Department and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue, one individual has been charged with suspected arson.
