
Weld County Coyote Ridge Lane Defensive Garage Fire

At 18:07 on October 22nd, 2024 Weld County Regional Communications Center dispatched Front Range Fire Rescue along with auto-aid from Greeley Fire Department and Loveland Fire Rescue Authority to a fire in a garage on Coyote Ridge Lane in Weld County. Responding resources reported a large smoke column while still enroute, area dispatch centers received multiple 911 calls reporting a large fire. Engine 50 arrived on scene of a large, detached garage/shop with defensive fire conditions, the crew deployed a Blitzfire line and an additional attack line for defensive fire operations. Engine 106 secured a water supply to Engine 50 from the nearest hydrant. Engine 501, Engine 502 and Truck 501 took over the Blitzfire line and deployed additional lines for defensive operations. Battalion Chief 41 assumed command, Battalion Chief 102 and Battalion Chief 501 were assigned as division supervisors, Battalion Chief 503 was designated as the safety officer and Chief 503 functioned as the support officer for the incident commander.
