
Lakewood South Beech Drive Apartment Fire
West Metro Apartment Fire
At 11:52 on October 18th, 2025 Jeffcom 911 dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue to a reported structure fire at an apartment building in the 1100 block of S. Beech Dr. in Lakewood. District 2 arrived on scene with a working structure fire in a two-story apartment building. Engine 4 arrived with multiple units involved and deployed the deck gun and pulled an line in for offensive fire attack and the primary search with Medic 4. Engine 4 secured their own water supply, Engine 3 pulled a 2nd line to the 2nd floor and Medic 2 assigned as as medical. The fire was put under control at 12:10 and crews started an extended overhaul. One resident was injured, treated on scene by paramedics, and then released. Two apartments were heavily damaged, one unit had significant damage, and another had smoke damage. Conditions were extremely windy, which helped fire spread. Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles. WMFR investigators determined that the fire was caused by an unattended barbecue grill on the deck of a first floor apartment.
