
Lakewood Vance Street Explosion Structure Fire
West Metro Structure Fire
On January 27th, 2025 at 14:05 West Metro Fire Rescue and Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a possible structure fire in the 2200 block of Vance St. in Lakewood. Jeffcom 911 advised of a possible gas leak with explosions and multiple callers with fire inside the home and in the attic and a possible injured patient with burns. Engine 1 arrived to a small single-story residence with nothing showing and started the investigation. Crews found active fire in the attic which was quickly put under control. The small gas leak triggered the explosion which caused structural damage including blown-out doors and windows. One person was inside at the time of the incident and was injured. The patient was assessed on scene and declined transport to a hospital. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
