West Metro Kitchen Fire

On April 26th, 2026 at 14:38 Jeffcom 911 dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue to a possible kitchen fire in the 33200 block of S. Field St. in Lakewood.  Tower 10 arrived to a large two-story multi-family building and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack and Engine 8 with the primary search. and Engine 10 secured the water supply. District 2 arrived and assumed command with heavy smoke from Charlie side and Tower 10 went into the fire unit with a 1 3/4 for fire attack and Engine 8 with search. Medic 10 assigned with evacuation of the next door units next to the fire unit. Crews found a small kitchen fire which was quickly extinguished with no extension. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by WMFR investigators. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue.
