West Metro Fatal House Fire

On May 3rd, 2026 at 08:24 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire with possible victims trapped in the 1100 block of S. Owens Court in Jefferson County. Engine 8 arrived to a working fire from the Charlie side and pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack and the primary search. The searches were hampered due to a large amount of personal belongings as firefighters had to move boxes and other items out of their way to clear a path. After fire knockdown, suppression and ventilation, crews found a deceased victim. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
