At 13:00 on June 16th, 2026 Westminster Fire Department, North Metro Fire Rescue District and  Thornton Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 2700 block of Ranch Reserve Lane. Engine 4 arrived to a small two-story single-family with a working fire from the Delta side exterior extending into the home and the attic space and pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack in the offensive strategy. Engine 6 arrived and assigned to pulled a 2nd line off Engine 4 to the Alpha side interior. Battalion 1 assumed command and assigned Truck 2 with the primary search. Crews rescued one family dog and received CPR and oxygen assistance from fire personnel on scene before being transported to a veterinarian. The fire was placed under control at 13:34. The homeowners were not home when the fire started, and no injures were reported and the dog that was rescued is expected to make a full recovery. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Westminster Fire Marshal’s Office. Additional information provided by Westminster Fire Department
