On June 21st, 2026 around 03:30 Westminster Fire Department Engine 3 was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm at the Arc Thrift Store, 8657 Sheridan Blvd. Engine 3 arrived smoke in the air and requested a structure fire response. Engine 3 arrived on scene to large single-story smoke-charged commercial building, pulled 2 1/2 for fire control and due to the size and complexity of the structure, a 2nd alarm structure fire response was requested. Engine 2 secure the water supply and prepared the FDC. Battalion 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side and assigned Truck 2 to the roof. Crews ultimately located a fire inside the building. The building’s sprinkler system had activated, limiting the overall spread of the fire. The building’s heavy content load required crews to use a variety of tactics and resources to thoroughly extinguish the fire and ensure it had not extended to other areas of the structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Westminster Fire Marshal’s Office. No injures were reported. Additional information provided by Westminster Fire Department
