On July 10th, 2026 at 13:49 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 8 responded to a reported outside fire at W. Kentucky Ave. and S. Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood. Jeffcom 911 started receiving multiple callers reporting smoke and flames showing and the call was upgraded to a small vegetation fire response. District 2 arrived on scene to a small quarter-acre grass fire in the Belmar Park. Engine 8 arrived and pulled a line for fire control and Brush 4 accessed the fire from the Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park parking lot and used their bumper nozzle. The fire was quickly contained and crews worked on overhaul with hot spots before going back in service. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
