E-470 MVA with Hazmat Response

On July 14th, 2026 at approximately 11:15 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident on southbound E-470 just south of E. Quincy Ave.  Engine 17 arrived on scene and found a fuel spill coming from the saddle tank of a tow truck. The Department’s Hazardous Materials Team was called to the scene to assist with approximately fifty gallons of fuel that spilled across two lanes of traffic. An ambulance was summoned to the scene to assist one person who was suffering from an asthma attack. Crews were on scene about an hours neutralizing the hazard and assisting with clean up. The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the incident.
