
Morrison C-470 Vegetation Fire
West Metro Vegetation Fire
On July 30th, 2026 at 12:18 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a vegetation fire on eastbound C-470. Engine 9 arrived to about a 100×100 grass fire burning on the right shoulder of C-470 approximately 1 1/4 mile from the W. Morrison Rd. exit and requested a large vegetation fire response. District 2 arrived and assumed C-470 command. The fire was quickly contained and burnt approximately 1/4 acre. Crews worked on overhaul on hot spots for an extended time before going in service. Traffic attempting to enter the C-470 was diverted onto W. Alameda Parkway during the incident. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
