Station 11 Open House

On August 8th, 2026 West Metro Fire Rescue held an open house at Station 11, 15629 W. Belleview Ave. in Willow Springs. The local community came out and enjoyed discussions with the fire firefighters were on hand. Families enjoyed getting a tour of the fire station and apparatus, with many questions for the crew. Stickers, bicycle bells and other fun items were available; while snacks and drinks were supplied in the kitchen. Station 11 was built in 1976 and was the former Bancroft Fire Protection District Station 48 and Lakewood-Bancroft Fire Protection District Station 11. The WMFR open houses also help to show how much the coasts are for the department from the turnout gear and SCBA to radios, helmets, tools, and all the other equipment they rely on every day including training, outfitting a single West Metro firefighter costs nearly $50,000. It’s one of the biggest behind-the-scenes investments they make-before a firefighter ever responds to a single call. Like everything else, the cost of this lifesaving equipment continues to rise.
