Castle Rock 2nd Alarm Fire

At 19:01 on September 15th, 2026 Castle Rock Fire & Rescue Department responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 4400 block of Cedar Gulch Place. While enroute, Castle Rock Police Department confirmed smoke showing from the house with people still inside, prompting a 2nd alarm. First due Engine 154 found a medium size two-story home with a working attic fire and advanced an 1.75” line for fire control. Engine 154 secured their own water supply, and second due Engine 152 laid in from a second hydrant. Engine 152 and Medic 155 backed up Engine 154 on the initial stretch, fire control and primary search. Quint 151 raised their aerial and ascended to the roof for vertical ventilation. Battalion 151 assumed command with Chief 152 assisting, and Safety 151 was assigned to ISO. District Chief 1 was assigned as the Division Two supervisor with Safety 2 assisting; Engine 153’s officer assumed Level 2 Staging Manager and Medic 153 was incident medical. The fire was quickly controlled, all searches were clear and no injuries occurred.
