Bennett-Watkins Outbuildings with Weed Fire

Bennett Watkins Fire Rescue responded to outbuildings that were on fire at County Rd 10 and Alameda Ave. on April 17th, 2018 with mutual-aid request from the I-70 Corridor Fire Departments including Byers Fire Protection District, Buckley Fire & Emergency Services, Sable Altura Fire Rescue and Strasburg Fire Protection District. Crews arrived on scene to several outbuildings including animal barns that were on fire, three vehicles. Crews worked heavy fire conditions due to the 65mph wind gusts that also helped force the weed fire to spread. Crews were able to get the fires out with no injuries to firefighters or animals and the fire is under investigation.
