Clifton Trailer Park Fire

At 16:49 on May 3rd, 2022 Clifton Fire Protection District was dispatched to a reported shed fire in Candlewood Trailer Park, 424 32 Rd. Callers reported a shed on fire in the yard extending into the house with flames 4-to-5 inches off the trailer. A deputy with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and confirmed a working trailer fire. Chief 22 arrived on scene to a single-wide mobile home with a working fire, requested an additional engine from Grand Junction Fire Department, and established Candlewood Command. Engine 21 arrived and deployed a 1.75″ cross-lay for fire attack in the offensive strategy as IC while Truck 21 brought in a dry 2.5″ supply line from the hydrant four blocks from the scene to Engine 21. Chief 22 assumed command of the incident and crews were able to knock the fire down by 17:03 and start mop-up and overhaul operations. There were no injuries reported and the fire is under investigation.
