Fire Station 1 (Station 91) was located at 6401 W. 14th Ave. and built in 1975 and is currently West Metro Fire Rescue Station 1. This station was originally located at 6885 W. W. Colfax Ave. & Pierce St. and also ran as Lakewood-Mountair Fire Department Station 1. The station was to move from Colfax to the west side of Pierce St. & W. 17th Ave. into a new three-bay station, but the deal did not go through on the land of the American Medical Society, and the station was than moved to the W. 14th Ave. location.
