On April 20th, 2024 at 01:10 Boulder County Communications (1800) dispatched Lafayette Fire Department and Mountain View Fire Rescue to a structure fire on Flatiron Drive in unincorporated Boulder County, just west of Erie. Engine 2601 arrived to a working fire and to fill-the-box with heavy flames and smoke coming from a two-story split level home with fire from all sides of the structure, pulled a line in for fire attack and secured their own water supply. Battalion 2660 arrived and assumed Flatiron command in the offensive strategy. Crews worked heavy fire conditions before all interior searches checked clear. All occupants of the home were able to get out before fire crews arrived on scene and the cause is under investigation. American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
