Fire Science Training

On April 9th, 2025 second-year students from the Adams 12 school district “FutureForward” at Washington Square Fire Science program traveled to North Metro Fire Rescue District Fire Training grounds to conduct some tactical evolutions. The students split into three groups and rotated through the evolutions under the watchful eyes of their instructors and other fire department instructors who volunteered to assist. During the morning the evolutions involved raising ladders to an upper floor with window entry and egress, navigating a maze with full gear and SCBA and wet hose line advancement into a structure flowing water. During the afternoon training there were live fires and each student had a few attempts to advance the hose line into the structure and extinguish the fire.
