Boulder County Horse Rescue

On August 28th, 2025 at 13:11 Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center (1800) dispatched units to the 6200 block of Plateau Rd. in rural Boulder County for horse that was immersed in mud and stuck and the owner possibly stuck in the mud. Crews arrived to find an elderly horse named “Sweetie” stuck in a mud pit with the owner out of the mud, the owner tried to help and was unsuccessful. Multiple rescue crews with a veterinarian from VetweRx Equine worked for hours to safely free the 26-year-old mare and get her on her feet.
