Boulder 2nd Alarm Restaurant Fire

On March 31st, 2025 around 19:57 Boulder Police & Fire Communications dispatched Boulder Fire-Rescue Department and American Medical Response was dispatched for a structure fire at the Salt Restaurant, 1047 Pearl St. Dispatch advised reports of fire from the roof and Battalion 143 requested “Fill the Box”. Tower 141 arrived to a working fire with black smoke and fire from the roof of a large four-story structure, started aerial roof operations on the Alpha side in the offensive strategy. Battalion 143 arrived on scene and upgraded the fire to a 2nd alarm and assigned Engine 143 with the water supply to Tower 141. Crews worked the primary searches and to evacuate the building with Boulder Police Department as well as of the buildings to the west of the structure out of an abundance of caution. Truck 147 arrived and went to the roof with their aerial to assist with the fire. The fire was put under control within an hour of arriving on scene. The cause has been determined to be unintentional and was within the kitchen cooking equipment. No injuries related to this incident, however the building and occupying business sustained significant damage. Adjacent buildings had minor smoke impact.
