South Metro Brush Fire

On July 16th, 2025 around 11:45 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported brush fire in the 9000 block of E. Parker Rd. in Douglas County. Battalion 4 arrived to a slow moving grass fire in heavy fuels by the Ave Maria Church and guest house. Brush Engine 41 arrived and started fire attack with Medic 41 and Brush 43. Crews were able to get the fire under control quickly and the rest of the response was cancelled. The fire burned approximately 1/8 of an acre in size and the cause of the fire was determined by an animal on the power line. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
