West Metro Basement Fire

On January 21st, 2025 at 04:48 West Metro Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue responded on a reported structure fire in the 7200 block of S. Pierson St. in Ken Caryl. JeffCom received a 911 call by the neighbor reporting the house is on fire and possibly in the basement and no one was home. Engine 13 arrived to a two-story single-family residential with smoke in the area pulled a 1 3/4 and started fire attack and search with Medic 13. Crews found fire showing from the basement area and a second line was pulled. District 3 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side in the offensive strategy. Engine 12 secured the water supply to Engine 13. Truck 14 performed the primary search of the 1st floor and Rescue 10 on the 2nd floor which proved clear. Crews worked heavy fire in the basement causing the main floor joists to become spongy. The fire caused extensive damage to the basement, kitchen, and part of the first floor and smoke damage throughout.
