On December 20th, 2025 at 22:17 West Metro Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 11600 block of Elk Head Range Rd. in Ken Caryl. Engine 13 arrived to a medium size two-story townhome with an extinguish garage fire and started the investigation. Truck 14 arrived and assigned to checked for extension into the main living space, Engine 12 set-up for the water supply and Medic 12 as medical. District 3 arrived and assumed command and with fire out the rest of the response was cancelled. A crafting project started the fire in the garage when a freshly applied expanding insulation foam ignited after being exposed to an open flame. The homeowner used a fire extinguisher to knock down the fire just as firefighters arrived on scene. Crews ventilated heavy smoke from the garage and addressed light smoke that had spread into the living space. No injuries were reported and no extension into the main living space.
