At 10:41 on August 19th, 2025 Mountain View Fire Rescue responded to reports of a commercial vehicle fire at northbound I-25 just north of exit 240 in Del Camino. Engine 208 arrived on scene to a semi-truck with the front of the trailer on fire and Engine 203 performed a booster back-up to refill the water tank on Engine 208. Battalion 201 arrived and assumed command. The fire was put under control within 20 minutes and completely out around 11:30 due to the high heat generated. No injuries were reported. The truck was transporting beer inside of the trailer which is a total loss due to the high heat and smoke. MVFR investigators have determined that the fire started after a piece of suspension equipment on the tractor failed which led to a drive tire becoming lodged against the frame which started a fire.
